The Love Bug : Marc Jacobs Dot

Marc Jacobs Dot

Marc Jacobs can never quite get it wrong when it comes to the packaging of their perfume. Whether it be Daisy, Dot, or even my most coveted perfume of theirs Decadence. Each of their perfume bottles and scents are just one of those that you want to keep on your dressing table, even if they are empty.

I touched on the Marc Jacobs Dot fragrance in a previous post about my summer scent, Guilty by Gucci. I am just forever in awe with the perfume bottle, and how it stands out in the shelves of any perfume aisle. The bottle is a play on the perfume name, and is adorably shaped to represent a lady bird – the glass is a shocking bright red, with large polka dots as you would find on the body of a lady bird.

Whenever you do see the bottle for Dot, you can just guess who the designer is as Marc Jacobs are just that iconic when it comes to their signature perfumes. The perfume itself has a very floral base scent, which is just ever so feminine. It also has a subtle musk over the base with a mix of vanilla, red berries and jasmine. Although this does sound like a bit of a strange mix, it does actually works and gives you a real elegant and delicate scent.

I don’t think the pictures would be giving the fragrance bottle much justice here, as you really need to see the bottle to appreciate its emblem style. It’s just a bottle that would stick out when placed against other perfumes, and you would instantly be drawn to it through its playful representation of a ladybird–  along with butterfly wings on the cap of the perfume.

The lasting power for this perfume is about 3-4 hours, however, when you do wear it the perfume is easily recognizable as a Marc Jacobs perfume.

Marc Jacobs Dot can be purchased from Boots here, starting at £50.00 for 50ml.
