#StockOurSnacks | New Health Snack

Stock Our Snacks

We literally have the word “calorie” put in front of our faces on a daily basis. There’s always the need to watch what we eat, and the good ol’ calories in, calories out concept. But it isn’t always that easy though, is it? Especially the need to go to the supermarket, and quickly turn over the packet to count up how much of your daily intake you are sacrificing.

But there are brands who actually want to take the pressure off and make it easy for you. And as a bonus, there are a lot of low calorie snacks that are also healthy and good for you. I was recently asked to take part in a top secret review for a new snack brand that was to be launched in the UK over the summer, as part of the Stock Our Snacks campaign. Usually when I am asked for feedback on products, I prefer to know everything about what I am being asked to review. Every last detail. But with this particular snack, I guess you could say it added an element of fun and surprise to the feedback process. It definitely opened my eyes, and taste buds, to new flavours.

The snacks are made using green peas. If your initial thoughts are the same as mine, yes, it’s not your normal snack ingredients. But trust me, when I tried out each of the 4 samples, they were flavoured to the extent of not being able to taste the peas at all.

I was sent 4 different sample flavours to try out, and needed to give my opinion on what my favourite flavour was. Which wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be! The snacks themselves reminded me of chip-sticks, and I actually loved the taste of them. From what I could taste, the flavours were salt & vinegar, one had a barbecue-y taste to it (which wasn’t my favourite as I don’t like barbecue at all), one tasted slightly cheesy (think wotsits), and one had a plain salted taste to it. Obviously, my favourite was the salt & vinegar one!

I’m relaely excited to see the final product, as I’m forever looking for new snacks that are not only low calorie, but also healthy and guilt free!

What do you think of the flavourings on this snack? Would you be put off because of the Peas?
