Bloggers festival

The Bloggersfestival was trending on Twitter for the week building up to the event, so if you haven’t heard of the Bloggersfestival, where exactly have you been? On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the Bloggersfestival, which was organised by the lovely Scarlett.

This was actually my first event as a blogger, ever, and it was only natural for me to feel a mixed bag of emotions – from nervous, anxious but all in all, I was excited! I had heard SO many positive comments about events that Scarlett had previously held, and from reading reviews and thoughts from other bloggers on 2014’s Bloggersfestival I had to get my RSVP in quickly.

Prior to making my way to the Bloggersfestival, which was held at the oh-so-glam Conrad London St James hotel, Jasmine and Kirsty from Soeurs de Luxe had planned a bloggers lunch at Pizza Express Victoria Street to meet new bloggers, and help blog event virgins (like myself) not feel so nervous! For anyone who is planning to go to their first event, I would thoroughly recommend trying to join a pre-meetup like a lunch as it not only helps settle any nerves, but you can also get to know other bloggers in a more relaxed environment. And besides, what’s a better way to feel relaxed than going out for a lunch? – bring on the dough-balls! Warning, this post is going to be VERY pic heavy.

The Bloggers Lunch itself was relaxed and in a perfectly chilled out environment. I have forever thought of Pizza Express as one of my preferred places to go out to eat. Even though I have always told myself that I will try something new the next time I pop into the restaurant, I do always end up going with the same thing – I mean come on, how can you go wrong with their world renowned dough balls? I ended up also going for the pollo-pesto, my all-time favourite main dish to have whenever I’m in an Italian restaurant, but nothing can beat how Pizza Express make it though!

The venue for the Bloggersfestival itself was so stunning; as you approached the entrance the glass doors lead you to a thoroughly decorated winding staircase down to the suite for the Bloggersfestival. The décor in the hotel lobby was beautiful – clear white and gold chandeliers giving a touch of luxury to the event.

The room that the festival was held in was packed with so many great upcoming and well known brands that were happy to talk to us bloggers, and let us know about any new products that were launching, or provide information on products they already had out. Brands such as The Perfume Shop, Simpley Be, Jewellerybox.co.uk to name a few. Of course there were also canapes being doted around the room – burgers sliders, fish and chips and cinnamon doughnuts as well as champagne cocktails and juices.

The brands themselves were all lovely, and each of them being really informative about their products, where to buy them, and what made them different to their competitors. What I loved about the event itself, was how relaxed and informal it was talking to the brands, and how friendly the blogging community really is – regardless of whether you have just met someone! Even though there were a lot of bloggers at the event, it didn’t feel cramped or overbearing at all.

One of my favourite new brands that I became aware of at the Bloggersfestival was jewellerybox.co.uk, they’re a great brand from South London who create these beautiful jewellery pieces at very affordable prices. They’re designs are simple and fun (they had dinosaur earrings and a unicorn necklace!!!), and high quality. I loved how there was a rose gold sheen to each of their pieces, espeically since rose gold is so in at the moment. I’m planning to do a big shop on their website soon, so a full haul will be on The Life Of Vanisha in due course.

I’d like to thank Scarlett for not only running the event, but also inviting me to this event. It was the highlight of my weekend! The brands were oh so generous, which meant I was trawling back to North London with bags heavier than my arms could handle!

If anyone does have an opportunity to attend an event – do it! It’ll so be worth it!
