What makes a wedding truly special*

Weddings are always memorable – no matter what happens. But what makes them special?

That’s a big question. If you’re tying the knot and becoming “Mr and Mrs,” then you want a day that’s the best that it can be. Anything less just isn’t acceptable.

But what’s the trick for a wonderful wedding day? Well, it won’t surprise you to find out that there are more than one. Here’s a list:

Pick A Slow-Mo Walk Down The Aisle Song

Walking down the aisle to be with your beloved should be the most memorable experience of your life. So it’s critical to get the music right. You want something with the right tempo so that you can really enjoy the moment. You don’t want to rush it.

Give Your Reception Tables Names

You don’t have to use numbering systems to label your reception tables: you can also use names.

Using names is a lot of fun for both you and your guests. While it doesn’t mean anything at all what you name the tables, it can have a massive effect on your guests. It changes how they feel about the event, hopefully bringing out their best.

Choose A Ring Made For You

You can go out and buy generic rings for you and your partner – and there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you want a truly special day, custom wedding rings are the only way to go. That’s because you can both design something that speaks to each of you personally.

Choosing a wedding ring made for you is easy. There are hundreds of artisans out there, all with metalworking skills that can help.

Buy Wedding Favours You And Your Guests Will Actually Use

Typical wedding favours are pretty useless, but they don’t have to be. You can buy wedding favours that people actually want to use once the big day is over.

For instance, rather than handing out bags of almonds, give guests things like stemless wine glasses that won’t break on the dance floor. After the celebrations are over, they can take them with them and continue using them.

Get Guests To Sign Something Non-Traditional

Guest books are wonderful and provide you with a detailed record of the day, who attended and what they thought. However, these days you can actually do a lot better by getting guests to sign something non-traditional. For instance, you might get them to write on an old guitar that you love, or a coffee table. You can also get guests to write their messages on pieces of paper and then use origami to transform them into something more interesting. A Polaroid guest book can also be a lot of fun. Just take photos of guests when they arrive.

Surprise Your Guests At The Reception

When guests are at your wedding, they don’t want to feel like they are following some sort of itinerary. Instead, they want surprises. For instance, at the start of the reception, you and your spouse could do a dance duet to get everyone else in the mood.
