2016 goals

Ok, so you’ve probably seen this or heard this all over social media at the moment, but wow, can you believe 2016 is just around the corner? 2015 literally flew by; so much has happened, and I was so happy that I could take time out for a 2015 reflection. So many of us are likely to be thinking up what our New Year’s resolutions should be, but why just limit it to one or two resolutions? I’ve decided to put together a post for my 2016 goals for the year ahead. I’ve already set mini goals for my happy half a year – which was really my Happy Birthday The Life Of Vanisha post. This post, however, was a post for my blog goals, now it’s time to incorporate the two together for what I want to strive towards in 2016.

I’ve already mentioned that 2016 is going to be a huge year for me, so adding more goals for what is certainly going to be a busy year may be something difficult to achieve. I’ve always been someone who needs something to work towards, I like to keep my brain ticking and learn new things all the time. Yes, 2016 is going to be another year that flies by, but it’s also a year I want to develop my skills, not just my blog but also life skills. My 2016 goals are going to reflect just that.

Develop my content and my style Readers of The Life Of Vanisha should know by now that I like developing my own style by using my personality through my posts. Although this can be difficult with some posts, I have loved sharing personal posts with you all, as this has helped me really document how I felt at the time, and I hoped to have helped others. When I went through a total nightmare of a relationship, or all my body confidence problems, I’ve always wanted to take people on a journey with me through my blog posts.

I want nothing more than to continue developing this through more of my blog posts, and really stand aside from other blogs. It’s so important to develop a style and shine your personality through your blog. It’s my piece of the internet, that is truly mine, it should be a place I can air my opinions.

Improve photography Photography is like an art, and there are so many different ways that you can style out a photo for your blog. I recently invested in a Canon EOS M, and even though I’m trying to get to grips with all the different functions on the camera, I’ve noticed my blog photos have improved. Although not to the extent that I want it to, there is still so much I need to learn about my camera. It really just means sitting down and having a little play with the functions, I mean, who knows what ISO is? I will! Soon enough! Gosh, I’m cheesy.

Blog more! Really, this is pretty much self explanatory. I’ve been saying it for ages now on Twitter, and telling myself that I’m going to blog more. Now that I have so much more free time, and not needing to sit and revise for endless hours during the day, what better way to spend my time than writing and working on my blog. There are so many blog post ideas that are fluttering around in my head right now, and I just need to sit myself down in front of my desktop and get them down. For all my readers, you’ll find regular posts popping up on the blog in 2016.

My Wedding If you’re a reader of The Life Of Vanisha, you will know that I’ve currently been engaged for almost 2 years now to my love, Ankit. We’ve been together for what’s coming up to 5 years, and I honestly feel like the luckiest girl alive to have him in my life. I cannot wait to marry this guy and share my life with him, and I am so looking forward to getting all the fine details planned for the wedding. I’m someone who really does believe that you only ever have one big day, and although this may not be the case for everyone, it’s something I would love to stick to. If you only have one big day, why limit yourself on the day?

Now this isn’t about spending endless amounts of money, there are so many ways you can have DIY wedding and still have the wedding that you want. With my wedding there will be elements of DIY bits that we’ve done ourselves and not paid someone to do.

Save up for a new place I bought my flat when I was about 18 and saved up, scrimping away to have my freedom. Now I’m finding that my home is a little too small for myself, Ankit and out two cats. I really want to save up for our dream home and try and move out. This may be a struggle though what with the current economic climate, but you all but try. Ideally I’d want a place that we can just build into our own and renovate.

What are your 2016 goals?

Vanisha
